The 52 Week $ Challenge

You know how some years are spendy and then you have some where you save?! We have had a couple of spendy years so one of our goals this year is to pay of debt and build our savings. There are lots of ideas on how to do this, we are doing Dave Ramseys debt snowball but also this idea.
I found this on Pinterest. The idea is each week you add money to the jar. $1 for week 1, $2 for week 2, $3 for week 3 etc. By the end of the year you will have over $1300 in savings. It could get tricky come next November and December but we are committed to the challenge. Think of how good it will be to have that in savings!
I quickly learned that I needed a way to keep track of the weeks and if my hubby had put in the weeks savings yet or not. I simply printed the plan off, put the Sunday dates by each week then put it and a pen in the jar. I keep this on our bathroom sink so we see it all the time. We are several weeks into this challenge and still going strong. I get psyched to see the dollars building up in the jar.

Here is the original pin if you want to give it a go too. The great thing about this challenge is you can start anytime, just go for 52 weeks from when you start. And don't forget to add the dates so you can keep track. 52 week money challenge

Bath Fizzies....

With cold and flu season upon us I thought it would be perfect to try making my own fizzies. We used to use these all the time, from the store though. I haven't seen them for a while but making my own is so much cheaper and E.A.S.Y!!!
Here is the original post.

And the how to...
pour about 2 cups baking soda in a bowl. Add enough water to make a paste. Add a little at a time to make it feel like putty.
Add your essential oils. I have the Breath from doTerra. It is great for sinus issues.
Eucalyptus, Lavendar, and Rosemary are some other suggestions to use. Add 40-45 drops total.
Mix well. Pour into cupcake wrappers and let dry overnight.
Pop 'em out and store in a Mason jar or some other container. I left mine in the wrappers to help the not break up in the container.
Then just pop one in the shower and let the oils steam away your stuffy nose....plus help to relax you!

Mason Jars+Cupcake wrappers=Organized!

What a mess. I hate getting into the cupboard for 1 thing and having 10 come out. I have been wanting to do something about this for a while. Yesterday, I broke down and took 5 minutes to do just that....
Take 1 pile of cupcake wrappers
 1 wide mouth mason jar....
Place wrappers inside. Nice, neat, and tidy...
Put the lid on it nice and snug and VOILA! No more jumbled mess.
Ahhh, I feel better already!
